I start planning my next trip the day after I return home, so I'm in no rush to pick things up on ebay, if I don't get it cheap enough I wait for the next auction.... It works for me...

I always keep an eye out for cheap stuff I can bring back. Sometimes I have a few spare minutes looking for something on Ebay or in a store or just something someone doesn't want that could be a good gift. Sometimes when I go back I have a bunch of stuff sometimes only a few small things.

I never go out of my way to buy extra stuff specifically for the chicas.


I give them my extra condoms, soap, shampoo, conditioner, Listerine, etc. so I don't have to bring it home. That stuff is expensive over there.

Sometimes I will bring good stuff that is going to waste at home to give to whomever I feel like. I don't try to negotiate with it.

If I meet somebody nice that can use the stuff, i pass it on. If I hit it off with a chica and she mentions she has kids, I might give some school supply stuff for them or some children's books in Spanish.

They are always very appreciative.

Hey Rock, I would agree with your post if it were about mongers and hookers back home in the states. We all see what we do down there a little differently. At the risk looking dumb, I'll let you know where my heads at.

I agree with you about treating people with kindness and not thinking badly of people who are just doing what they need to do to survive. As a plumber, I do that all the time. You didn't think we actually like dealing with other people's shit, did you?

But, I don't agree that the chicas down there are any different than the chicas here. It's only the market that's different.

If you want a perfect example of that, look at Costa Rica. Stupid, overpaying gringos and Europeans changed the market conditions in Costa Rica and took it from a good hobbying destination to one of much lesser quality. Read some reports about it, if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Obviously, you haven't experienced situations wherein you learn how preditory and mercenary these chicas can be. I hope you never do.

Based on my experiences, I believe it's only the fact that the supply and demand ratio is very different that the chicas in The DR provide better service for the buck. If P4P in The DR had the stigma attached to it that exists here, or law enforcement was the same, and because of that there was a shortage of quality providers there, the prices would be higher as a percentage of the median wage, and the girls would offer less for more.

In regards to the gift giving, a lot of guys like GFE. To maximize the likelihood of getting GFE, some guys spend a small amount of money on trinkets to make the girls feel better about the situation and in so doing, allow the girl to fool herself a little and give a more novia type of service.

Better for all concerned, I think.

Most guys here would share your opinion. No biggie, to each his own. But I consider some of these girls as friends, not "good" friends and not "girlfriends", but still friends. And giving a small gift to a friend brings them some joy, and it also is fun for the giver.

One day(3 years ago lol) i was cleaning out my basement and i came across 2 old baseball gloves and a couple of softballs.
