Dr. José Rafael Vargas is promising, in collaboration with Cable Atlántico, to provide a wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) connection for the residents of Sosúa. The connection is primarily meant for students who can then take their laptops from school, to the streets and parks to work with the free Internet.
The action plan is called 'Sosúa Wi-Fi, free Internet for everybody'. The wireless Internet connection has a range of one kilometre from the source. This should be enough to cover all Sosúa, according to Dr. José Rafael Vargas. It is not yet known exactly when this connection will be operational.
