According to Airport Department Executive Director Andres Vanderhorst, airlines will be notified when they will be able to make night flights to and from the Joaquin Balaguer International Airport at La Isabela, on the outskirts of Santo Domingo. This will not take place until an initial inspection flight is made by an aircraft used by the United States for this purpose. Diario Libre reports that in the meantime, the airport managed by AERODOM will only handle daytime flights.
