Yesterday, President Leonel Fernandez received the credentials of five new ambassadors appointed to the Dominican Republic. They are John Stewart Michell from Australia, Lin Byung-Taik from South Korea; Martin T. Bjorndal from Norway; Vicente Rojas Escalante from Peru; and Eugene Glenwood Newry from the Bahamas. The ceremonies were held at the Ambassador's Hall of the Presidential Palace and were attended by Vice President Rafael Alburquerque, Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso, and the Chiefs of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Relations and the Presidential Palace, Francisco Nadal Rincon and Roberto Blandino. On their way out of the palace, each ambassador received honors of style by the Presidential Guard as a military band played each country's national anthem.
