UASD has new dean

The UASD University has a new dean, Franklin Garcia Fermin. Fermin was elected after a second round of voting last Friday and will be replacing Roberto Reyna Tejada as dean of the oldest University in the Americas. Garcia, who will serve from 2008 until 2011, explained that he will work hard to maintain the UASD's "open door" educational policy, and would tackle the problem of overcrowding and infrastructural issues that have continually plagued the state university.
