Andy Garcia's "The Lost City" premiered Monday, 17 April at the Cinerama Dome theater in Los Angeles. Most scenes were shot in the Dominican Republic, chosen as a look-alike to Havana. The DR's first Miss Universe, Amelia Vega and musicians Isidro Bobadilla, Chocolate and Guarionex Aquino have moments in the film. The Lost City will be shown in New York, Los Angeles and Miami theaters as of 28 April. This is Andy Garcia's debut as a movie director. The film tells the story of Havana in 1958, during the days of the transition from Fulgencio Batista to Fidel Castro. The drama unfolds while the revolutionary forces of Fidel Castro and Ernesto "Che" Guevara prepare to move on the city. The film stars Andy Garcia, Dustin Hoffman, Lorena Feijoo, Bill Murray and Ines Sastre. Garcia himself has described the film as a Latin American "Casablanca."
