The web site makes this place look great. ID checks are a good thing (the ID checks clearly protect the mongerer).

I have two questions: on the web site, there are photos of some very hot babes. They are refered to as maids. Are these pretty ladies available? My second question is a tad mundane: Does management encourage local talent to hang out on the premises (like the Palace and Balckbeards)? Thanks

When I was there they had older maids.

No there are no chicas hanging around here. There are couples and even families staying here. You can bring in quests as you like and as often as you like.

Some time up to 3..4 girls available in the bar at Voramar. But this is not the rule.

How far is it from Voramar to the beach and the centre of town. Walking distance?

10min by walk to the Sosua centre, little bit far to the beach.

Since The Palace is book up, then I quest I will be staying at the Voramar. Any chica I bring back with me she has to give a copy of her ID at the Front desk?

Cubanito--
You would be happier at the Europa. Nicer rooms, better location.

yeah i think Europa would be better also .. voramar is really away from the action and you need a motoconch to get places where as Europa you can walk anywehre u want ... also there are always moto's near the Europa if you need one late night.

If the Palace is booked, my number 2 option would be the Europa also.

my number 8 or 9 option would be voramar... just because of the location though ... ive never actually stayed there... only stopped there for a second when i told the motoconcho that i wanted to go to Maura Maui he took me to Voramar ... do they sound similar? i guess so >?

I stayed at the Voramar for $30 USD per night. A good deal.
Place is smaller than appears in the website photos, but how big do you really need a place to be, right? The rooms themselves were adequate and comfortable. Despite all the buttons on the controller, the A/C only had two settings.. "On" and "Off". Sometimes it would get so cold in the room, I'd turn off the A/C and just leave the ceiling fan going.

FIRST TIMERS TO DR: The sewage system there is NOT up to US standards. The owners advised that you do NOT flush toilet paper down the toilet, but instead ball it up and leave in a wastebasket. This can potentially make your bathroom very stinky. After you wipe you ass, wrap up the ball nice and good. The maids will clean your room daily.

(I am assuming this toilet paper issue applies to all hotels, not just the Voramar.)

Food in the restaurant is decent. The chef Alberto was a very nice guy, and some of his dishes, although simple (ex: pastas, hamburgers) were very tasty. Strangely, breakfast is not a bargain. I could find similar breakfasts in NYC for the same $3-4 dollars --or less-- that Voramar charged, and not as good. I usually went to PJs. Good food, decent portions, and inexpensive.

Now, from a financial perspective:

PRO: Very chica friendly hotel. Unlike other hotels, there's NO GUEST FEE to bring a visitor. And if you stay at an all-inclusive, you're gonna have to find a cabana (and fork over more dough), or go to her place.

CON: Because of distance from downtown, your increased reliance on motoconchos will add up.

But how much it adds up is purely dependent on how often you decide to leave the hotel. The Voramar isn't close to the action, but it wasn't as far as I was afraid it would be. Some days I would walk. A nice leisurely walk, mind you. But if you prefer not to hoof it, there's almost always motoconchos waiting underneath the big tree on the corner who will take you to the center of town.

However, repeated trips back and forth from the Voramar to town did start adding to the cost, especially at night. (Although the average in-town price is 10 pesos, I could rarely convince the motos to give me a lift to "downtown" Sosua for less than 20 pesos. I could justify the price because of the distance... and hell, it still is only 50 cents).

Basically, it's like the old saying "6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other." You're gonna pay one way or the other. Really, the only deciding factor is whether you want to be close to everything, or have some breathing space.

Problem is that if you want to go to town FROM the Voramar late at night or early AM the motos are not around. You can try to flag one down but at 1 or 2 AM there aren't any going by. It's very deserted at that time. I went back to the room to change and go back to town and it was a half hour before I got a moto. Some drove by and didn't stop. A real pain. Another night it was just the chica that needed to go back at 2 AM. Same thing. Also I thought the owner was sort of a wise ass. Ran into him at BD and he was a REAL wise ass.

Never had a problem with motos at Voramar at 1am..2am..3am....
Max time I wait about 5 minutes in the corner of the road leading to casino. (3..4 motos available there daytime and some motos going to casino and back in the night)

I stayed at the piece of shit b4 with my ex-novia. The air conditioning in my room was bullshit. I was fucking and it was a suana. Went to eat dinner and saw a big fuckin rat ... was hungry as shit though so still ate the food. Relatively quite place, which was OK if you got a non-puta who doesn't want to be perceived as a puta. The menu and everything was in dollars. The hotel has a nice pool.

Rats, they are everywhere, no big deal. About their pool, that I like the best.

Stayed here several times. Its ok. Pool is good. Bar is rebuilt in May and is very nice. Some girls hang around. Never tried any of them. Nice talking to a couple of them. When you bring back girls they normally need to leave ID at the frontdesk. The girls that pretend to be "nonputas" seems to like it as it is not as many "putas" there. Breakfist is ok, never tried the real food. There are also a couple of Voramar apartments nearby when the hotel is full. Stayed there once but it was very dark and not so nice.

I don't remember any problems with the beds I had. They were very comfortable and responded well to all action that took place.
