My buddy seems stuck on these all inclusive resorts as the way to go. Now I have read through these forums and all seem to point towards New Garden and just buy your own food and booze.

So is there any all inclusvie resorts you can recommend. It most certainly has to be somewhat chica friendly cause I plan on bringing many back to my room. My buddy seems to think you can have a great place on the beach with great food and drinks for about 100 bucks per night.Beachfront would be a plus. He wont be mongering as much as I will be but it has to allow me to bring chicas back. I dont want the cabana thing.

If these AI are just all crap then I can probably convince him to do New Gardens. I am not concerned about having wild parties and such, but I want to have the ability to bring chicas to my room. Can you slide security a few pesos to make this work? Maybe slide a few more to get the chica a wristband?

Any advice would be appreciated...and look forward to meeting some of you ISOC guys

Wrist bands run $35 to $50 a day. No just slipping the gaurd a few pesos. And unless you check in with them most have to be gone by a certain time at night. AI's in the DR are family resorts and do not want different whores in and out with their single guests. Seems you have read up and already know the answer.

Or you can go to the AI's and rent a room at Rockys or the New Garden to fuck. They are both just around the corner from Sosua Bay and Casa Marina.

Generally you will not be able to take chicas into an AI and bribing security will not work because the guy would lose his job. Of course there is the odd exception but silly to base your holiday on that chance. Of all the thousands of reports I have read here I can only think of one or two guys who stayed in AI's.

Why cannot you two stay in different, but nearby, locations if you want different sorts of holidays? You could still spend all the daytimes and evenings together, at least until he hurries back for his free dinner and fancy dress competition while you retire to the New Garden with a chica on each arm?

The above advice is dead on. Forget the AI's, there full of families, and older couples.....you'll be kicking yourself if you don't...And while it is certainly workable, the thought of renting two places to sleep in one & play in the other just seems like a hassle.

And if you have to end up choosing between your buddy and Chicas, well, you know what your buddy looks like, and here is what chicas look like:rolleyes: ...(I love these pics)

My first trip down I booked into an AI. I only stayed in the AI the first 2 nights. On the 1st full day there I took a taxi to La Passions, I had a soapy, then met some ISOC guys there. One of them, Young Hero took me over to the NG to check it out. I won't rewrite the entire trip report here if you want to check it out you can at:

http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/images/misc/paperclip.gif (http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/search.php?searchid=908790#)
Trip Report - Kennilingus 1st DR Trip!!! (http://news.insearchofchicas.org/forum/showthread.php?t=77121)

I will add two things to the trip report here.

The first is that I spent a shitload of valuable time and cab fare going back and forth between the Costa Dorada Resort, Sosua and Blackbeards It was an absolute waste of time and money.

Beads told me the right way and I didn't listen. His advise was:

[yellow]Ditch the AI and stay in Sosua. Consider whatever you paid up front a loss and use the plane ticket to get you to POP airport.Just dont show up at Playa Dorado complex tell the taxi to go the other way!
Get a cheap room at the New Garden if possible or Rockys since its walking distance. Read the board for where to eat, find chicas, and exchange money, learn not to book an AI next time!

I didn't listen, I opted for the "safety of a prepaid sanctuary "in case something went wrong" and while I still had an amazing week it would have been much, much better had I listened. These guys know their shit about the DR. I have never been steered wrong here, and you won't be either.

Learn from my mistakes!!!

The second thing I will (reluctantly) share with you is that if you do get roped into going to the AI scope out the staff. Flirt with them, and in about oh ... 4 or 5 seconds you will know which ones are interested. On my last morning I was in the AI and flirting with two of the staff, and within minutes of each other they each asked me if I wanted to go their respective homes with them for the night when they got off work at 3 and 4 pm respectively. My flight left at 3pm so I couldn't pursue it further. I'd had 15 women in 7 days, and I still was broken hearted on having to pass on these two!! I don't know what the price was or if it was a WU set up, but if you are stuck there you might as well check out the staff looking to subsidize their $1 /hour pay.

I will NEVER stay in an AI in the DR (or anywhere else) again, in April I will however, be slipping the Bell Captain there a few pesos to let me talk to la chica pequeña y flaca con la sonrisa hermosa!

One sentence to sum up the above :

AI ... don't do it, it's a trick!!!!

listen to them, stay at NG or in a condo or anyother non AI hotel in SOSUA. You will be safe. do not carry a lot of money - not more than you need, and do not wear extra flashy jewelry. You will all have the time of your lives. THe food is better in town than at the AI's and you will feel like a movie star when hundreds of girls gaze into your eyes throughout your trip at the beach bars during the day and the discos at night. AI's are for when you take your girlfriend or wife away on vacation with you. The all inclusive hotels in Sosua at American or European standards are at best 2 star. Unless you stay at the Victorian which is top notch and then as others have said rent a room at rockys or new garden also. I say maybe to make your friend comfortable rent a condo at El Neptuno, Perla de Sosua, El Balcones, which are all in quiet neighborhoods yet 2 blocks from the beach and action of the discos and are all gated communities with a pool and security and 24 hour power and kitchen. The AI's are a waste of money unless you go to Iberostar or Marien Oasis Grand in Playa Dorada which are true 4 star hotels and kind of pricy. If your buddy would feel more comfortable at a gated condo environment you can save money becuase they cost between $400- $1100 for a week in a 2 bedroom split between you. Then you can cook to save a little or eat out in town at the smaller non-tourist trap restaurants (not like LA ROCA - MORA MAI). and the food will be tasty excellent an no more than $5 to $15 for breakfast or lunch depending on whether you order an omelette, burger, or Seafood. ANd you have fancier food at on the waterfront which is still reasonable. You can not take more than 1 girl into an AI. Wouldn't you and your friend(s) like to take a few girls at once into your room and have a blast? And Sosua Beach is much more beautiful than Playa Dorada. It is a calm bay with crystal clear water, bars and restaurants along cliff part of the beach which make anything from a cuba libre to Pina Colada in fresh Pineapples or Coconuts which are Delicious and the restaurant food including the seafood specialties are Fresh and Delicious.

There is no suggestion that he is, but just in case your friend is ultra-nervous about going it alone and needs a bit of hand-holding, a compromise would be to rent a two-bed apartment from Dominican Billy in Puerto Plata where food, laundry, cleaning are available for a small extra charge and Billy can advise you on some reliable and honest chicas. It is a safer environment than Sosúa if your friend is paranoid about that aspect.

Have you investigated buying "flight only" charter tickets? That is how we all have to do it from the UK. The planes which carry the AI holidaymakers sometimes have spare seats which they sell off cheaply.

I havent heard of those type of flights. I have found flights for about 630 dollars round trip from Ohio...layover in Atlanta then right to Puerto Plata in about 6 hours total time...didnt think that was too bad

Thanks for all the advice. I think I can convince my buddy that New Garden is the way to go, especially since I have some seasoned veterans backing me up with all their experience. I'll be going down the second week of June and hopefully the new units will be ready by then. Damn I cant wait. Those pictures made it even worse and I dont care if they are 5 years old.

So it seems a consensus, to hell with the AIs

I'll be there from June 8-15..Look forward to meeting some ISOC members

Study this board religiously - I'm a newbie too...and within the last few weeks have picked up on more things than could be imagined...my buddy was leaning towards AI too:mad: .

I was able to send that 5 year old pick LOL in an email - and he said fuck the AI.

But really study the posts...the good the bad - and the ugly. I just read that a good way to secure your valuables in your room is too have your own combination lock (preferably a realtor's lock) - it has a compartment for your room safe key. That makes it harder for you to lose safe key at beach - or a bar - or for some chica to jack you while you're in shower.

If you can purchase your DR tourist card before you leave, it may cost you a dollar more than buying in DR but will save valuable time at airport...

...there's more ....lots more....but read the posts by some truly great great guys and learn for yourself.

Basic question: New Garden or Club Residencial?

New Garden has a solid rep on this board - fellas rave about staff - and Willie's cooking, as well as convience of chicas who mill around the place.

Only negative I've caught - one guy who got ripped off for $3000 US by a chica in his room - BUT he didn't have it locked down, NOPE not in safe - sorry but that's just stupid  - I don't care where you're staying.

Only other issue is the ultra aggressive "street rats" that line the block - some of which have to be beaten off - some look to rip n run.

VERSUS

Club Residencial - which offers larger more comfortable quarters but is a bit more restrictive on guests - only one at a time is what I've read.

Also frowns on large rowdy parties because some families stay there.
(Not a real issue for me or wingman...well not me)

Plus is that CR is near PASSIONS (true?)

So if you were a newbie - where would you stay?

Would appreciate feedback from all - but especially psriches, tittytwister, citynights, bigdave (cause I know ur in North east), all my fellow "The Wire" hoppers and captains, and of course JimmyDR.

Thanks again fellas;)

New Garden wins hands down. I stayed at CR once many years ago but I think they may have a guest fee and I don't think you can swim at 1am there.

Just read "My gripe with the New Garden" post...and thru it all NG still comes thru as the hands down winner if you want to stay near the action.

Staff courtesy, security, and location all seem to be tops! Just be smart about setting up your room - safe for valuables - towels - supplies for chicas - and its' all good baby.

Hope to get a new room - or 2nd story view with balcony.;)

hey wey, have u stayed at blillys place in PP? I was serioulsy considering staying there on this upcoming trip , but, i just found out his rooms are not air conditioned. If the temp gets above 80 or 25 celcuis, i just start sweating like a pig and i feel unpleasant. I run for somewhere cool, like the casino lol Even the hot muggy nights are sometimes unbearable for me at times.

If u or anyone else on this forum has stayed at billys place in puerto plata, can u describe for me the conditions of his place? thanks

I am also very curious of this information..

I plan on going in the next 3 weeks, i am looking for sell offs out of toronto. Ill probably only have 3 0r 4 days notice, so, booking a place to staymight be a problem. It seems that new garden is the popular choice and probably will be booked if i ask only 3 to 7 days in advance.

Club residencial seems to meet all my needs. But i havent read much on here about its living conditions or the rooms in general. Also, there seems to be some concern about taking a chica back to the room. Can someone confirm the exact rules of this establishment?

I am also considering billys place in puerto plata, but, it has no air conditioning but, id really like to let billy show me around and ive enver been to puerto plata before, just sosua a couple of times.

Rockys also gets a vote or two as a place to stay, any new rules or updates for that place? thanks

Of course, there is the Europe where i have stayed on my two visits to Sosua. Europe doesnt get much mention any more on these boards but, i liked the rooms and i liked the air conditioning. The location wasnt bad either.

Hopefully a few mongers can help me and caroline out here. thanks in advance

I did a search on club residencial and didnt really find anything other then their web page. I wouldnt mind hearing directly of comments from mongers that stayed their recently. As for not staying at Europe, well, i may still stay there but, it hasnt been getting any compliments as of late. Everyone seems to be hyping up the new garden. Plus, i wouldnt mind actually hanging out with a few people that are in the know of sosua this time. My last trip i basically did everything solo and didnt run into anyone i felt would object to me being their sidekick. I dint want to inconvience anyone. I am kind of shy in my ways and not the most outgoing type of person.

Billy's place is on the foot of the mountain. It gets a breeze all the time. Also the ceilings are very high and the rooms very large with windows on three sides so you can have as much or little through draft as you want. You definitely won't miss air-conditioning this time of year and perhaps never.

The rooms also have large balconies. This was the view from mine:

Cancel this trip and wait until I arrive and we two shy introverts can tear up Puerto Plata together! :)

Seriously, if you meet up with some experienced ISOC guys in Sosúa you will enjoy that. You can hang with them as much or as little as you feel like on that particular day and that is cool with everyone. You can attach yourself to a group or unattach yourself at a moment's notice without feeling embarrassed or arousing comment. That is how it works, you don't have to feel committed.

I was in an AI for my first trip to the DR. I WILL NEVER STAY IN ONE AGAIN! If you can get a package deal where your flight ends up cheaper booking a package and its close to where you want to stay then by all means.

Your still going to want another hotel or room for chicas and taxi fares + rooms could easily offset the cost since you wont be eating/drinking in the AI a lot either. Do the math and see whats more cost effective but be prepared to have another room and have to travel from the AI to where your going to play with the chicas also.

If my memory is right, this picture u are referring to was taken at either cristals or El bohem. IN todays money, they would have wanted $120-$150 and that could be 3 days budget for some of us. We all cant afford $120 hookers or we would just stay home in our own countries and do them here. In this case, maybe only a picture was affordable. :)

Or you can go to the AI's and rent a room at Rockys or the New Garden to fuck. They are both just around the corner from Sosua Bay and Casa Marina. This is a good idea.

Last minute AI packages are often less than the flight alone, or not much more.

wrgold and his friend can book a package and then wrgold can get a room at NG and still enjoy the resort and some food and drinks.
Maybe his less-mongering friend will not even need his own NG room and save even more dinero.
