Preparations for the IX International Santo Domingo Book Fair 2006 are being rushed to completion for the opening ceremony on 24 April at Plaza de la Cultura. Dozens of workers are building more than 450 pavilions to be used during the fair, which will last a record-breaking 14 days. This is the second time the fair will take place at the Cultural Plaza after it was held at the Conservatory of Music park from 1997 to 2004.
