Hello gents. I am so excited. I am going to be in the DR next week for the first time. Yeahhhhh and I cannot wait. I arrive in Santo Domingo on Wednesday, April 26 and I will be there for two days.

I have a reservation at the Hotel Palacio for $71 per night (less 5% if pay in cash). This rate also includes taxes but no breakfast. I would like someone's opinion on the Hotel Metur (rate of $71 with Breakfast (rate includes breakfast and taxes))or the Hotel Riazor ($55 with breakfast (rate includes taxes))? I know they are all chica friendly, but does anyone have any preference.

Thanks in advance.

On Friday the 28th I leave for the famous "Boca Chica" where I have a reservation at El Caucho. Unfortunately, I will be in Boca only for one night because I have to depart from the DR the next day to head back home............... .

Did I say that I am getting excited!!!!!. Let me know if any fellow mongers will be in Santo Domingo or Boca during this time. I would love to buy you that first drink.

If you grab the right (direct Metro) bus it's about 3.5 hours.

We have some South Coast guys on the board, hopefully the will chime in. Make another post in the Santo Domingo section titled "Hotel Palacio vs. Hotel Metur vs. Hotel Riazor" or something like that and I'm sure someone will chime in.

Welcome to ISOC.

WELCOME KEITH ! !

Would that be a Captain Morgan T shirt? or a Redskins T-shirt? ;)

Welcome Keith!

Even though a lot of us will be on the North Coast in Sosua during your trip, based on your short time frame, I would just stay put in the Santo Domingo / Boca area and enjoy yourself.

A 10 hour round trip bus trip when you only have 3 days in country?
We (ISOC) are nice guys,....but not THAT nice! ;)

Maybe plan a longer trip to the Sosua area next time.

KEEF!!! Welcome to the board. I would tell you to pace yourself, but I guess that would be impossible with a two day trip. Have fun, and be safe!
