This is a report that I posted on another board before I found this one. But the Report was from my trip 2 months ago:
First of all, let me thank all of the members that came before me. I had so much knowledge going into Sosua. I saved a lot of time and money. I was solo on my trip, so I didn't know what to expect. First day stayed at the Palace. What a big mistake. Listen, to each his own but the Palace was not for me. I was charged $45 a night for a 2 bed room even though it was just me. Studios and 1 bed rooms were available in the hotel. Look I'm all about saving money but this hotel was just ridiculous. The lights in the ceiling were broken so they could not be changed. I had the room on the other side of the bar. My TV's volume had to compete with the tv from the night watchman all night long. There were no towels and the smell of roach spray filled the air. The battalion of ants never gave up trying to get into the small hole in the bathroom. To the credit of the palace I did see some better room up stairs. I didn't know why they didn't give me one of those. I wasn't going to let any of this stop me from having a good time.
I later made my way to Europa. Unfortunately they were booked all weekend.
