Re: 07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
So a flight from JFK to STI landed today. TGunz was on it. Haven't been in touch with him him personally, but was just a Flip Flop and they were communicating.
My observatoins today:
FLIP FLOP - open
CUBANO - Coffee/Cigar Bar - is open
NEW ITALIAN PLACE - formerly Chinese restaurant, next to CUBANO - Open
JOLLY ROGERS - Did not look open completeley
MATTEO'S - Not Open yet. He's in no hurry til more people are here.
SCHNITZEL - Open
CHEZ MONREAL - They had all the chairs outside and looks like they're clearning to open any time.
I had to get back to work so I didn't go to the beach yet, but many spots should be open in next few days if not today.
I will be exploring more the next few days and post as I see it.

I just learned that everythg must close by 8PM for now. Guess that's the way to TRY to maintain some order after drinking at restaurants. Also makes sense because establishments are operating with skeletton crews for now.

That is way too early if you want tourists to come.

Will hotels in Sosua allow guests in?

My understanding is that in general guests are allowed in the hotels that previously allowed guests. My question would be is there any sort of daily limit. I知 thinking that multiple chicks coming through daily would be frowned upon or perhaps not permitted. I知 sure within a few days a lot of our questions will be answered.

That would suck if there was a limit for some mongers.
Re: 07/2020 - Current situation in Sosua - with Covid
I guess they would want to keep it low key & discrete in the beginning. My guess would be one guest at a time and no hanging out with them at pool area.

There's still the energy in the air that we're dealing with CV19. So, I don't think most guys are on a mission to smash 3-4 chicas a day--although some are backed up and may feel the need. Many in this environment will find a regular or 2 and keep with them I'd guess. Also, unless someone has a lot of contacts, the options aren't outside for all to find--unless you're not that picky.

What about those that never stay with them longer than needed?:confused::confused:

This morning I went for breakfast at Steven's. It's an open-air Italian restaurant at the end of Calle Sin Salida over looking Playa Alicia. It's a great getaway from all the noise on PC, great food and coffee....lot's of parking.

That痴 going to be a difficult situation for some of the guys who are used to treating the girls as disposable. It will be interesting to read the trip reports as they start to trickle in.

Thanks for the reminder--I need to get over that way more.

To me it seems that most of the guys you describe, are also the type that would have less interest in being here without the discos and bars being open. Under the current situation, I'm not sure how many high volume type of guys will be interested in visiting.
Tipping security well goes a long way when there are restrictions at hotels in Sosua though.
Re: 07/2020 - Current situation in Sosua - with Covid
With emergency and curfew gone, nothing can be done; we have to stop lying at least to ourselves - we will be over the chicas in all ways possible and with as many of them we can afford by all means.
This is a personal touch hobby with the closest social contact imaginable. All girls come from crowded poorly ventilated housing, they take public transportation and share multiple connections within their family, community and beyond.
If this malady continues to be present in Dom Rep, we are going to be exposed to it, and the only difference is the result of the exposure.

It had 2 eggs, bacon, fried cherry tomatoes, toast and coffee. Food was 250 pesos and coffee was 60 I believe. Not expensive for the view and ambiance.

Thats about $6 USD for breakfast with that gorgeous view in that area.
That sure beats a couple of sausage, egg and cheese McMuffins at a McDonalds drive thru for $7 bucks.
