But the guy that is screwing them all doesn't get anything and that doesn't work.

Good thing you are not an investor, that is an important part.

Just a quick note to say that the Voodoo Lounge is indeed closed. The neon type sign on the front of the building has been removed. Inside it looks fairly empty with a few wooden tables and chairs turned upside down. It will be interesting to see what happens with the building next.

I hear ya, brother. It blows me away how many guys,, no... guys AND gals go through the hassles to travel to another country, then search out places where they can feel like they're back at home..
Doesn't make much sense, does it?
Now, if ya live here, then cruising by a place like Lou's for a drink is cool, but 99% of the time you'll find me in 4 Roses, or one of the other little bars if I'm in Sosua, or places like Hot Cafe or Mascarade if I'm in SD.
BTW, when you coming back?

You have to ease into it. Once you get the feel, there is no going back.

That is a very good question! At this point I have no idea, I have a trip to Colombia coming up in November, another trip to Colombia in February and then the target is the Phils or Thailand for two weeks in July. After that maybe the DR but you never know, one of those trips could fall and you will see me on the south coast again.

True but some of us just dive right in. I was totally into being the only gringo at a establishment several times in CTG.
Re: The Velvet Club of Sosua
looked in the place last week,, almost finished,,,
looks decent inside,,,
word around is that they're gonna need all the luck they can get as far as staying open,,
its not just a matter of having alot of money,,,
gotta know the right people as well,,,,,,,,
Re: The Velvet Club of Sosua
Hummm.....
Guess who is working the bar at the Velvet??
.......Soronji, yes, that Soronji!!
The place is nice but the girl are about as average as Sosua gets....not impressed, one beer and out. Did not partake, was with a chica.
Mike from the blue dolfin owns the little bar on the corner, it has nothing to do with Velvet. Prices in Mikes were good, nice bartenders, TV with the game on, I hung there a few nights.
