07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
I have an old friend and former board member visiting from the UK early in August. He was planning some days in Sosua (among other destinations) but is alarmed at the current news stories on DR1 about a police crackdown in Sosua.
Could those currently on the ground in Sosua kindly advise whether they notice any difference from usual in police harassment or shortage of chicas.
I appreciate that this is the very quietest time of the year, so this may distort perceptions.
He and I are only interested in what the situation is now, not the history of past actual or alleged police crackdowns in Sosua, Pto Pta, Boca Chica or elsewhere.
Many thanks.

Re: Current situation in Sosua
Actually have heard the same from some of my chica friends in Sosua, they are looking to come to other places until it cools down. I will be there in about 10 days and see for myself.

Re: Current situation in Sosua
I was in Sosua about 2 weeks ago and quite frankly didn't really notice that things were all that much different than the way it always is during low season.
Still lots of girls out on the streets on Friday and Saturday night and not so busy during the week like always and really no more police there than normal.
The girls did say the police are now getting after them for not dressing properly.
I do think the girls are more nervous about being out and about on the strip now.
Saw girls on the beach and out along the PC just as normal.
There are less monger tourists around no doubt and it has been that way for several months
I had no trouble finding plenty of available ladies around to suit my fancy but I rarely pull from the PC strip anymore.
I did some pre searching on Facebook prior to coming and had more than I could get through.
I have been there enough that I know many chicas and they are more than happy to hang out

Re: Current situation in Sosua
At this time there are not a lot of guys in town, but there will always be more around the weekend.
The police still have a lot of chicas in fear of getting arrested. However, most nights there is sufficient talent in Merenque Bar and a few in other bars. They are taking motos rather than walking, so those that can't afford motos or can't work the bars are at more risk.
Your friend should be fine and still have a great time.

Re: Current situation in Sosua
Gotta a message from one of my higher end chicas last night randomly saying she wants to come sleep with me. This seemed unusual because she seemed like such a ST type before.
After some thought it dawned on me that more chicas do seemed to be trying to do TLNs at this time....Could be because they don't want to risk police attention....or could be because there are less guys in town so for a change they appreciate a longer term sure thing. For the last few years many may agree that TLNs seemed to have went away in favor of chicas trying to be high volume, revolving door type providers. So maybe we've taken a step back for the better for now.

True as long as she doesn't neglect your morning nut.

That's the key. Some just want a place to stay. As soon as the rooster crow they jump up and run. Or they sleep so late that we're the ones that wake them up and put them out without the morning session just so we can begin our day.

Re: Current situation in Sosua
So true, after watching them sleep like a corpse for an hour or so late in the morning any desire I had to fuck them has completely evaporated. I just want them to leave so that I can get on with my day.

The irony is some of them are asking for and getting $150-200US for TLN. I cannot imagine paying more than 5k for TLN and wake up with a morning wood and not get my money's worth.
You might as well pay her ST 3000 pesos and send her on her way...

Re: Current situation in Sosua
I found it best for me to take them ST and if they’re really good ask them to stay for another round in the morning at the same price. You don’t get any sort of TLN discount, but you sure nuf get fucked in the morning or she doesn’t get paid. Of course the holy grail is the ST that turns into a TLN at no extra cost because you were both fucked out. I lucked out and had two of those last trip. Both of those girls were real cool peeps.

I know I've touched every month in my 15 years of travel there and I still can't tell the difference between low and high. Year round seems the same to me.

Closing up a few bars means the end of Sosua? really? Sosua is much bigger than the block where they closed the bars on Pedro Clisante. The exact thing happened on July 7th 3 years ago. 7 bars were closed up....there are about 50 more you can go to.

Its a longer flight and for those walking around drunk, it won't be happy.
With a connection, going Friday until Sunday won't work.

I know you and me go on longer trips, but sooner or later, acting stupid in Meddy will get you in big trouble.

Jimmy you are spot on. The ricos in Medellin will not tolerate the behavior by the Jetblue crew that was tolerated in Sosua up until now. Someone will get hurt. The warning signs are already in place. Dominicans are a passive bunch compared to the powerful and rich in Colombia, you don't want to piss them off.

Some guys can't control themselves and will find out the hard way. For those that can control themselves, they may enjoy Meddy but a few asked about Morenas and they are not.

Re: 07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
Took a moto home last night about 8pm and all the way up to where el flow was, he only hit the brakes for the speed bumps. It is really surreal.
For a tourist/monger it's a mere convenience factor that things are more spread out with the changes, but I find myself thinking about the many people that are now out of work, that were trying to earn a living the right way as they perceive it.

But if they are building hotel for more families, these guys will start to work in them. Workforce will shift. Touts will be out of work.

That sounds good, but Sosua is not a town that can absorb the downtime before it gets better like a major modern world city. Part of the reason that in the past they'd try to crack down on the streets with brilliant future plans, but then shit would go back to business as usual during high season because it's clear the the businesses would suffer to much before the next great plan came to fruition.
we will see I guess.

Hey, can you please refresh our memories on what happened 3 years ago? I don’t recall that one. Why did they closed down 7 bars?

Re: 07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
They’re at the point of no return now. The wager has been made. My guess is that nothing changes until after the election. Willy appears to be next up at bat. It will be interesting to see what he does if elected.
