I know you and me go on longer trips, but sooner or later, acting stupid in Meddy will get you in big trouble.

Jimmy you are spot on. The ricos in Medellin will not tolerate the behavior by the Jetblue crew that was tolerated in Sosua up until now. Someone will get hurt. The warning signs are already in place. Dominicans are a passive bunch compared to the powerful and rich in Colombia, you don't want to piss them off.

Some guys can't control themselves and will find out the hard way. For those that can control themselves, they may enjoy Meddy but a few asked about Morenas and they are not.

Took a moto home last night about 8pm and all the way up to where el flow was, he only hit the brakes for the speed bumps. It is really surreal.
For a tourist/monger it's a mere convenience factor that things are more spread out with the changes, but I find myself thinking about the many people that are now out of work, that were trying to earn a living the right way as they perceive it.

But if they are building hotel for more families, these guys will start to work in them. Workforce will shift. Touts will be out of work.

That sounds good, but Sosua is not a town that can absorb the downtime before it gets better like a major modern world city. Part of the reason that in the past they'd try to crack down on the streets with brilliant future plans, but then shit would go back to business as usual during high season because it's clear the the businesses would suffer to much before the next great plan came to fruition.
we will see I guess.

Hey, can you please refresh our memories on what happened 3 years ago? I don’t recall that one. Why did they closed down 7 bars?

They’re at the point of no return now. The wager has been made. My guess is that nothing changes until after the election. Willy appears to be next up at bat. It will be interesting to see what he does if elected.

Seems to be a common theory.
I'm becoming good at living day to day anyway.

Re: 07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
As long as there are bars to go to nothing much is going to change just where you go do it at and how you get there.
The motoconchos gonna make out ok because not going to walk as much on that end of town especially with a chica at night
City Lights stands to benefit big time at least in the short term by getting their hands on the High Carib location as they will be the main game in town at this point at least early on.
Sure they are going be many of the WW types that will stop coming since they can't fathom Sosua without Classicos being there.
But for most the game will continue on
I have not set foot in Classico's in close to 5 years and I know I could head there this weekend and have more pussy available than I could ever possibly get through
I bet I had more than 25 FB friend requests from random DR girls yesterday alone.
The game changes and we adapt that's what keeps it fresh and interesting.
I was finding Sosua to be getting pretty boring and stale so perhaps the new locations and the entertainment center when it opens up will make it more fun again.
As long as I can get cold beer, rum and all the Dominican and Haitian pussy I can screw I will continue to be happy and if not I will go else where.
Gotta keep going though. To many people are depending on our pesos. :corky:

It happened mid-morning on July 7th 3 years ago. Authorities shut down a bunch bars including the smaller once like the one next to Elefante Rosa. They were told that they had to start serving food and couldn't only be a bar. That's when you started seeing Merengue, Rumba, Flames and the others serving food. This was also the day that they shut down Rancho Tipico for good.

Rancho Tipico is back open again but they pretty much only serve food now and it's pretty good eating there as they have a proper kitchen to cook out of
With everything moving back to that side of town don't be surprised if you see the place become alot more active in the future.
It will never likely be back to it's heyday era but you never know.

I walked by the old Rancho place (Ad) Thursday night and it was open but empty.

Yes I was the only customer in there the night I stopped and ate in July.
It was still good food.
All the places should realistically see an upturn in business now as people start to focus on that end of town

Maybe, but walking along the semi-lighted streets in that area of town feels a bit dicey/dodgy for a tourist, I would imagine.

Yes but i hear part of the mayors grand plan is the installation of brand new street lights with Red bulbs that way we will know exactly where the Red Light District is.
