Why not take a moto?

Better than getting mugged on a dark street.
Re: 07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
I think someone here advanced the notion that married or otherwise committed guys avoid motos because they can’ run the risk of being injured in a place they shouldn’t be.

You get a guy you know and trust and you will be fine.

You think like a vet. What we’re talking about here are amateurs doing something they shouldn’t be doing. They tend not to think with a clear head.

Moto’s would work. Taking motos for going several blocks from restaurant to bar and to apartment or hotel... works...some think it fun, some think it dangerous and some think it a burden... unless that part of town develops it will still seem a bit dicy at night for the average guy...

Speaking as a guy who once rode a moto from the Malecon in PP to the Texaco in Sosua, hey...it was a bigger bike, a quiet ride and a comfy seat....:rofl::rofl:.....for 400 pesos, I just tell the guy ,"Amigo, despacio por favor, no accidente", and he always says, "No problemo"! :corky:
But I don't mind walking either and if the nightlife in general was to migrate to that end of town, then those streets won't be dark and empty at all and walking back to your room, particularly if staying on that end, I would think wouldn't be much of a problem.

Re: 07/2019 - Current situation in Sosua
Practically it's no fun, not only because it adds 500 pesos to the evening (me there, me and chica from there, plus she wants to get there back on ST), but also because the strip offers the opportunity to loiter, walk around, meet friends, munch, go back to your hotel or condo and come back fast, etc. I don't want to be driven to some destination in the boondocks like Casino Playa Chicita and stay there all the evening. Give me my best 100 yards the Caribbean back!

Like everything, new mongers will arrive and it will be their new normal.
Since I started going in 1997 and stopped in 2006, nothing now, looks like my Sosua looked like.

My "history" in Sosua started in 2010, and ended in 2015, IIRC, when I left the North Coast in favor of Boca Chica.
I'm getting ready for a return, with a Blackbeard's booking for Dec 16-21 ... and I might bail out of "The Petting Zoo," Dec 18-21.

What caused you to stop going to Sosua and how come you never returned in 13 years?
Boca not that much of an upgrade

I spent two hours there once. It was 90 minutes too much.
