    It's all TNT's fault in post 217.

If I did that, then this thread would get moved into the pay section and everyone wouldn't get all this great info on where to change their money (and where to get their phone fixed).

Man....there's this little joint just off the French Quarter, across from Canal. The gumbo in there is awesome! Throw in a nice pint of Abita Amber and I'm telling you that there ain't nothing better........

Ah hell, I got a plane to catch. Change place in the plaza behind Orange. Next to M@M's. Got it!

And with that, I'm outta here.....

Don't change money at the airport, they will screw you. The best place to exchange money is the guy in the Orange plaza, the second best is Western Union but you need your passport. The taxi mafia will try to get $30. out of you but only offer $25. Some guys used to do it for $20. but I don't think you will find any takers,a member might have the name of someone that will do it for $20.,I haven't taken a taxi in quite a while so I don't know anyone.

You can also use a photocopy of your passport ID page. Done that several times, keep the original in the safe!

    Where are you staying?

Some places have a deal with a driver to pick you up and will save you a few bucks

Otherwise expect it to be about $25

There will likely be others on your plane headed to Sosua as well you might try and split a cab with one of them.

They are pretty easy to spot.

According to Xe Currency the market is 45.93 today so you should be able to find at least 45 RD at a minimum and probably closer to 45.50-45.75 pretty easy
