    Ha ha good point

Since you rarely see a conversion rate posted except in the banks I use it to make sure they are fairly close to the rate they should be at.

Afterall they might try and take advantage if you don't know what it should be.

I just make sure they are close to market rate, don't short me on the exchange and don't give me any 2,000 RD notes

Much different in Thailand where the rate is always posted and often changes throughout the day.

If you are truly rate conscious than a schwab card is probably the best bet since you will get market rates all of the time and no big notes have ever come out of an atm for me. But I have found one or two atm's in Sosua where the Schwab card does not seem to work but most of them do.
I am the pussy licker Let's have some fun. Not invisible. Snitches are pathetic little people!

At worse, we're talking about a $1 difference for every $100 exchanged, between good and bad rates. But I think for mongers, it's just the principle of the thing. We don't mind being cheated a little on the pussy. But the restaurant bill is a different story!!

Guys want 45 rather than 44.5

    BUT

    will pay 3,000 vs 2,500

500 times ten sessions is a ton of pesos

Pussy exchange rates are subjective, bills and cambios are hard numbers and objective..

Coming with $1,000 and getting 45,000 vs 44,500 is only 500 pesos less.

    Spending 3,000 a TLN for 10 nights is 30,000 vs 2,500 is 25,000.

Overpaying 5,000 is no problem but 500 less is
