    09/2012 - Where to stay

So I'm sure this question has been posted so many times, that at this point people just want to slam their heads into the keyboard every time someone ask this, but here goes. I'll be visiting Sosua for the first time this March. I have my flight booked, and will be in town from March 9th - March 19th. I've never been to Sosua, let alone stayed in a hotel, so I have quite of bit of things I would prefer to be readily available to me for this trip. I would prefer some place as close to all the action, I've been in 2 moto accidents in Santo Domingo, and at this point I flat out refuse to hop on one. So I'm looking for some place real close to everything. Most have AC, Wi-Fi, and room safe is also pretty important to me. Above all else, is safety, and quality of night time security staff.

I'm hoping to do all this for south of $500 dollars, I'll be there for 10 nights, so I'm hoping with an ISOC discount I'll be able to find a place with this requirements within my budget.

    Re: Where to stay

Best place for you would probably be Sosua Suites.
Locale, price and ISOC affiliation will do you well.

Check with Rick, from Rocky's... on the board he is Dafishguy send him a PM and he can get you set up...
reserve no, thats a busy time of year in sosua. or if you prefer something more along the lines of just an economy hotel room he can help you with that also.... will be withing 4 minutes of the the party favors in sosua and not far from the other end of the strip as well.

PM me if you want info or other suggestions.

Your going to get THIS answer from quite a few people,,,,,,STAY AT SOUSUA SUITES !!!

Rick is a great guy,,,and will be at your service,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And is a board member,,,,,,,,,,,,,(Datfishguy)

You will be in dead center of all the action,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You have a strong AC in the bedroom ,, And when you leave the bedroom door open ,,,it will cool off the unit,,,

    You have WiFi,,,,,,,,and A safe,,,,,,

There is also a security guard at night that will open the gate for you when returning with a chica or solo,,,,

And I believe the total for your ten nights will fit into your budget,,,

    OH,,,,,,,,,,if i haven't mentioned it ,,,,Rick is a great guy !!!!!

Or ,,,,,You could PM Mikelodge,,, and he could tell you about another place,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    Re: Where to stay

Thanks fellas, I was trying to decide between Rocky's and New Gardens. It seems that anything done through Rick is nothing but a wonderful/pleasant experience. Everyone has nothing but kind words for the man, and the way he conducts his business, and it would be comforting to know that there's someone there to help in case of anything.

The only reason I still am undecided is because I'm aware how New Gardens has girls hanging out there, and walking about 10 feet out my room, and being able to pick something I like sounds appealing to me. Although from searching the forums, it doesn't seem as if management at New Gardens is anywhere near the same ballpark as some other places.

You can not do New Garden for south of $500 and 10 nights. As everyone has said try Sosua Suites. I would recommend Hotel D'Piero but they are too far and you mentioned proximity is a concern plus they do not offer ISOC discounts which you also mentioned.

    Re: Where to stay

In all fairness to NG I had a nice time there. The girls by the pool were a bonus. I think I have only pulled one, I almost pulled another but got wifed up. I have been pleased with all my stays at NG. The location if convenient, I like that the doors lock from the inside so chicas can't just dip on you if you put the key in the safe. Free breakfast is always nice. Not a bad choice at all. However, for my upcoming trip I am staying at Sosua Suites. I wanted to try something new, it has more space for a cheaper price, I have heard nothing but good things about Rick, so I figure why not check it out. I am looking forward to the stay. Honestly you really can't go wrong with either place from what I gather.

    Re: Where to stay

One week at NG would be pushing your $500 budget, 10 days would put you well over it.

There are a lot of places to stay within a stone's throw of the most active part of the strip and most of them would keep you under your budget, New Garden and Terra Linda are the exceptions.

Sosua Suites would run you about $430 for a 10 day stay, you'd have a full apartment with kitchen, AC & safe. It's less than a block from the action - you'll never have to get on a moto to get anywhere. Rocky's is right across the street, you can get a room with AC there @ $30/nt

A couple blocks further away is Condos Dominicano, I haven't stayed there but a lot of guys swear by the place. If you want to save a few bucks it's probably the least expensive tourist hotel in the area

Are you planning on $500 bucks for everything, or are you budgeting $500 for your room only? (As in eating on the cheap, and fucking all the girls for free?)

$500 just for the room. Although I can probably eat for less than $1000 pesos for those 10 days, 9 empanadas a day, and I'm good to go. If I could pull a trip to Sosua on only $500 dollars I'd be there every couple of months. Since I have 7 months, to save, and gather enough Intel on what everything will run me, I've determined that I can finally pull a trip to Sosua, with less budget constraints as the one I'm currently on. Somehow $1,000 dollars for 6 weeks wasn't the greatest idea I've ever came up with.

I have to budget everything to the last detail, including how many sessions I'm willing to do a day, and how much I'm willing to pay for said sessions. Obviously I'm also banking on the fact, that if I try hard enough maybe I can nab a free lay, every now, and then. I don't expect to, as I have less time to build rapport with these girls, so I think I'll have to change up my gameplan just a bit.

Typically, $200 a day lets you do pretty much anything you want to without concern for money.

That's great actually, I had plan to bring a total that would have amounted to $250 dollars a day (this would cover, drinks, food, and girls.)

I drink a lot, but I also don't drink in moderation. If I space out my drinks throughout the day, it will come out to be more expensice for me, I found out if I just hit the sauce as hard as possible, at a certain time of the day I can be drunk for the rest of the day without having to buy more drinks. This obviously isn't a good idea, as no one wants to be the wino, but it's that, or go back to drinking some thug passion.

So.... you might consider us as well. We are not in susua, but not far from.... We are across from playa Dorado near Puerto plata. If you want to be _in_ sosua, then sosua suites with Rick from Rocky's is CERTAINLY they way to go...... however, after reading a few of your posts, I think we may be right up your alley.... here is why:

First of all, our room for 10 days would be less than your $500 budget. Plus.... as an ISOC member, we do offer discounts and perks and such. For example, for 10 days I would be willing to upgrade you for free to a nicer room (a room that would normally be $85/night). All of our rooms have free high speed wifi, air conditioning, and US based DirecTV on 42" flat screen tvs. Plus pool, jacuzzi, and tons of girls on-site.

Rick is my best friend on the island and I go to see him frequently, so there is always an oportunity to catch a free ride with me if ya want, or the "carro publicos" are cheap an plenty.

If ya want more info, check out our section of the forum and/or our website..... or just ask.

    Good luck planning!
