    New Club--- TROPICANA

I'm back in Sosua and can finally contribute something useful.

A new club along the lines of Passions opened two days ago in town. It is located very close to the Merenque bar, right across the street from the Brittania. Owned by three Belgians. one is Chris who used to own the Benelux bar right across the street.

I stopped in for a beer tonight, very friendly place, couple of nice girls offering 1 hr massage. Did not partake due to novia issues!!

I wish them luck. Location is great, owners very friendly.

yes evreybody go check it out ...but you are going to be confused...because they copied EVERYTHING from Passion.....the colors , the bar , the rooms...the only thing they could not get is a permit to open this spot right next to a school and the Passion girls... even though they have been trying on various occasions to convice them to leave Passions to come to work for them ....hahahahahaha...anyhow ...since they copied EVERYTHING I take it as a huge compliment....and : Chris, Ivan and guess the other guys name is also Peter...heads up ....one day you maybe learn how to do this business.....hahahahahahahahahahahah

    Re: New Club--- TROPICANA

    From Sosua News:

Damien, Iwan and Krist have been working hard for the past few months, but last Wednesday evening their goal was achieved: their brand new Tropicana bar was finally opened. This Wednesday evening was mainly meant for friends and acquaintances of the three barkeepers, and on Saturday evening the bar was officially opened to the general public.
They have turned this into a really nice bar, with lots of professional woodwork, comfortable bar stools and a big circular bar. These guys know what they're doing, because the tiling, woodwork etc. is very well finished.

    The girls behind the bar
    The three owners
    Damien, Iwan en Krist
However, the lights above the bar are somewhat bright and too strong, but this is just a small detail that they are still working on, according to Damien. The bar also has a massage department. Here too everything is neatly set out, with professional-looking massage tables and all the associated equipment. Professional masseuses from Santiago will be available on Saturday evening. Of course we don't need to tell you that the bar sells most of the Belgian beers available.
The Tropicana bar is located next to the Luis Hess School, which is 50 metres left of the Merengue Bar in Sosúa's main street (Pedro Clisante).

    Re: New Club--- TROPICANA

I was told it is 1000 pesos for one hour. The girl is yours for the duration. Both girls I met were from Montellano, not Santiago. Very shy and quiet but attractive. The tall girl behind the bar was my choice but she said she did not do massages. I spoke to one of the other owners at Siempre Sol today and he said they have more girls coming in after christmas.

Time will tell if it will give Passions a run for thier money. My first impression is that it is less ' in your face' than Passions which I like. I am here for 4 months so will keep reporting back.

BTW, very quiet in town but lots of new girls here for xmas.. Not sure why it is quiet some say the new hours are having an effect others say it is the new airport at Samana which is offering good deals on charters, we will see what the new year brings.

I dropped by there yesterday for a drink. No massage was offered, and the two girls working in the bar wasn't close to be attractive. Boring as hell.

I dont see this place as doing very well. That end of the street during the day is more a restaurant area. At night the discos get all the people. Location is whats going to hurt them. During the day mongers are at the other end of the road (LaPassion, 4 roses, Dominoes) or on the beach and at night theres too many chicas in the disco area to be bothered going here.

It's really too early to tell.
    There are so many factors.
If they are still there next Christmas, then it's working out.
Surviving low season will be the real test.

    Re: New Club--- TROPICANA

this is true or they will have to exhaust whatever funds the owners have. theres plenty of businesses in town im sure lose money but the owners have enough money either saved or from other investments to keep them going. Ive seen so many places that you look at for a while and wonder...

How the fuck are they still in business?

The only way I can think of is from some other type of infusion of cash.

The test will be if they are around when I return to sample the goodies.
