Re: 01/2007 - JET BLUE TO PUERTO PLATA - Current Sales

I try to help when I can.....check out Delta JFK-STI. There are dates in March for $329 RT....cheapest I have seen in a long time...brings back memories of the direct AA flights into POP back in '03/'04 for $290 RT! I know flying into STI is not everyone's cup of tea but it is an option.

Jim - I will send you my bill!

Yup. when I checked earlier today kayak had Delta flights from JFK to both STI & SDO for $322 r/t in January & February and $330 from March through (at least) July.

They might be making a run at JetBlue customers since kayak no longer lists JB flights.

Re: 01/2007 - JET BLUE TO PUERTO PLATA - Current Sales

Sorry to say, but IMO from what I could see, These Delta Prices seem to be smoke and Mirrors.
Maybe you guys are looking at the MONTHLY chart only on Kayak? which can be deceiving.
I tried to book, SEVERAL dates.. NONE of them came out even close to this below $400 price. In fact some came out to over $500, many in the $442 $460 range.
Must have tried like 12 diff dates, all of them showed the $322 on the monthly calendar.
So eventhough Kayak may show as $322 and $330 all the way through August 2012, i was not able to find a SINGLE one at that price.
Has anyone really BOOKED one of these $322/ $330 fares ?
Might even be a Glitch in Kayaks Software.. the fares do not seem to exist. or were changed. Would sure love to be proved wrong .

Re: 01/2007 - JET BLUE TO PUERTO PLATA - Current Sales

A buddy of mine bought about half a dozen tickets yesterday through the Delta site for about $250 each plus tax = $360.

I just checked with Delta.com for March 10-18 from JFK to STI and the tickets were $252.60 plus $107.10 tax = $359.70

I then checked 5 other sets of dates, some weekday and some weekend and one including both, and they were all the same range.

Fuck kayak, GO Delta I guess

kayak shows the best prices posted within the previous 48hrs or so, but fares can change a lot in 48hrs. You could look at it as a glitch in that new prices don't bump out older ones for the same dates, but with a dozen different fare classes on every flight - and constantly fluctuating prices on every one of them, it's basically impossible to have a real-time aggregate flight search that's 100% accurate.

I think the $322 fares were available when they posted to kayak 45hrs ago, now maybe not so much.

I just punched in jfk to sti march 10-17 on delta.com and got the same prices as before...with slightly different dates.

Which airports and dates are you looking at where you're getting radially different results?

At $330, thats a huge spread. Why dont you guys consider maybe getting on a bus to NYC, or renting a Car, one way , or even drive and park long term . how far is it ? for $400 savings EACH per person ,. holy crap, say 3 peope you save like $1200 bucks -costs 2 people can sleep.. Im sorry, i dont know how you guys do it for $750 each. I feel for you. Some guys in the midwest say they are paying like $900 ? ..

you ever think of taking the megabus from your city to chicago...i mean nyc would suck balls. but just like how everyone talks about the bus from SD to sosua megabus is pretty slick. Its pretty modern buses and 90% of the clientale are college kids or hippies and not hobos. Some pretty hot girls ride it too. Its on time 95% of the time, but i would go the night before and priceline a hotel or facebook an old friend that lives there.

Interesting. Thanks for posting blazaveli. I didn't notice the dates running to april on the email when. I glanced at it. Need to check out from my pc when I get home.

Another thing is what's up with the originating travel from us??? Makes me wonder about the return flight.

On another note sdq and sti are also included in this deal. The price is only $20 cheaper at 129.

That's still $400, times are tough when a $440 flight from NY to POP is considered a deal.

Continental EWR-SDQ is around $378 and out of JFK Delta has a ton of flights to STI & SDQ at the same price - all direct flights.

I feel the same way about the tough times. Good to know there are still cheaper flights available elsewhere.

I think best deals was a few weeks ago when aa had flights to sti under 100 each way. Only lasted a day or two though.

I'm happy anytime I get my rt under 400. 300 to 400 is goood for me.

I bought two NYC-Santiago tickets on Delta for $300 each (including tax) from the "delta" thread here.
