Just 3 days to go until I'm on that big silver bird to sun and fun. Shit I feel like a kid again anticipating his first trip to Disney World.

Watch out for all those Dominicana Minnies that want to play with your Mickey and make you part with your pesos.

Guys since I am staying in pop the first night is there anywhere that I can change up money? Just wondered since it is a Sunday and places might be closed by the time I arrive, flying on AA out of Miami.

There are always guys hustling and yelling for 'Chenge' at all times of the day and night. Depending on how late it is; the rate goes down as they know you have limited options. If you are doing this at night double check the math and the bills. There are guys just past Casa Valeria who will be around. Trust me, you will find them.

Don't know where you are staying in POP but I've heard a good rate is Jenny's near Blackbeards, but that is in Costambar. Maybe one of the expats that live in the City will know a place elsewhere.

i don't know . . . it's 6 to 10 years ago but I got a VERY comparable exchange rate @ the Airport more than once . . . buy maybe that was cause I was going straight to BlackBeards and their Exchange rate is a MAJOR rip-off !!!

The rate at the airport places is normally way below the market rate so it's not really worth it.

If you don't think you can find something in Pop there are always guys hanging around as you exit the airport doors from the rental car area.

They will start low as well but if you play the game that you know you can get a better rate than that in Sosua they will come up some but probably not as high as you might get in Sosua.

If it's only for one night your not going to need all that much converted so even if you get a below what you would in Sosua you won't be out all that much.

There is a bank just outside the arrival area at POP. Once you emerge out of the terminal and see all the taxi drivers and people waiting for everyone to come out, walk past them and keep to your left.

Walk about 30 feet or so and you should see a doorway that leads into the bank. It's a small office, maybe 2 tellers working. And an armed guard to keep the peace. Rates there should be as close to legit as you can get, much better than the exchanges inside the terminal itself.

ATMs and pussy are two things nobody has to worry about in Sosua.

Change has been easy for years. (and was really only an issue for a year or 2)

Every trip I go home with a stack of small bills and a ziplock of coins.
