11/2016 - Update: Taking the Metro Bus from Sosua to Santo Domingo

Over the last few years I have been splitting time between North Coast and South Coast. I have used the Metro bus on numerous occasions for travel between the two coasts, never an issue. Sometimes the bus has free wifi (hit n miss). Comfortable ride, good A/C. They raised the fare between Sosua and Sto Domingo to $RD425 but well worth it in my opinion.

Considering the current exchange rate, only about $9.50 usd each way. A hell of a deal to be sure. I have also used Metro and Caribe....no problems with either one.

Yeah, I used 46.1 and it came to $9.22 for the ride. GREAT value.

I used to go Santiago to Sosua and back all the time. It was a hell of a lot less expensive.
It was also a hell of a bargain as compared with a taxi or driver.
Every bus was always clean and ran good.

If you are asking the time between Sosua and Santo Domingo, when I rode the bus, using both companies, Metro from Sosua to SD was approximately 4 hrs.

Using Caribe going back, it was a bit less than 5 hrs. Caribe has 2 stops to make in Santiago, which is the main reason for the longer ride with them.

Caribe was also 60 pesos cheaper and they ran basically every hour. I prefer Metro due to slightly more leg room between seats, but either is fine.
