The 80-100 bucks will be the best money you spend....I could have taken bus from Sosua to Santiago airport..but its such a hassle....plus you splitting it in 2....you own an island..dont be cheap....

I was not considering using the bus for monetary gain....We have decided a few days ago to take a cab directly to BB.

Tex, for future consideration, on that 2nd trip, and there WILL be a 2nd, since I'm assuming you are out of Houston, see about booking a flight early morning on AA to Miami, then the connection to Puerta Plata (POP) from there.

Or, catch a quick hop up to DFW, then AA to Miami.

Most likely a higher priced ticket, but you would save time and maybe upward of $200 USD in taxi fares to/from Santiago, that could go toward your accommodation or fun money.

At any rate, have a great time. We are leaving the same day apparently, you to the DR, me to Asia, then East Africa.

You have gotten off to a fantastic start here and have been welcomed by the board members unlike any newbie I can recall in years!

We all will be eagerly awaiting your trip report about how things went and your overall impression.

I'm betting you'll be all over that town like a JJ Watt sack on Andrew Luck!

All the best to you and your buddy.

Still lots of chicas in sosua looking for pesos

you will have more choices than you can possibly get through

one of the biggest changes that is abundantly clear is the guys have pretty much stopped coming

Not near the number of men here so clearly there will be fewer chicas hanging around especially in the the normal spots on the strip as in the past.

But they are there and ready to take your pesos

and the ratio of girls to guys might actually be as good or better than the past

still lots of trash but those were there before to

look past the trash and the treasures will be there

I've been down there plenty of times when people were crying the blues about the town being dead..... always found something to my liking. Some times it took a little longer and on a rare occasion nothing caught my liking but plenty were around.

The fact that you are not new to the game, you will have no problem. Biggest problem will be trying to brush off chicas that you don't want.....

Have even been there on Good Friday where the bars cannot sell alcohol until midnight and PC is a ghost town, still found a girl.

But with your Matthew McConaughey good looks, you NEVER have a problem finding a chica!

Thanks, but Mr. McConaughey may dispute that statement.....

I've always just attributed it to my wonderful peso-nality.

Yep met up with both of them

A few growing pains but I suspect it will turn out ok for them

Tex had a heck of good looking venezuelen he was negotiating with but finally had to pull the plug with her which likely was for the best

I passed along a very nice venny to him and I think it went ok and he apparently found another cute one that suited his fancy as well

A few drinks at the beach.

His buddy seemed to be enjoying himself on his first venture into the DR

Will be interested to see both of their takes on the DR but it seemed to be going ok for them so far

Funny thing happened when the hot venezuelen sat down to talk to him at Rumba

She essentially had a bra on for a top and when she sat down her nipple popped out

I tried to let the buddy know but she noticed it and slid it back in pretty quickly

I got a good view of it though

She was a hottie with a stank attitude

Ok, so we finally made it back to the States after our trip to the DR. Man that was quite an experience!!
One of the things I am going to try and do is summarize this trip from the a newbi's perspective.
I realize that for many of you this will all seem like old news.. After reading many of the older TR's I do think the DR has changed quite a bit within the last few months.. Do I think the old DR will come back after the dust settles..Probably, but it is a far cry from the old DR right now.
I can now see why Shogun was amazed at what is currently going on Sousa right now!
    Standby.

We learned a lot about the DR. from this trip..Keep in mind that I probably asked more questions than most BEFORE I went..
So with that being said I will report from a day to day standpoint as we lived it. Good and Bad, things we did right and things we should have done differently. Anyway Here we go!
