OMG says the casino is worst. Not sure if I’ll be going inside a disco when I’m there unless it’s way early. Perhaps Mon-Thurs there’s less of a crowd.

Well i have been hearing they are kinda slow so far but she has been sick and not working to much since they moved there.

It's a nice bar so they should do ok once it gets busier

November in Sosua has always been pretty slow.

City lights has been hosting some Haitian music artists and they had one a couple weeks ago that packed the old place

Seems to me that the WW boys that used to frequent Classico's currently have a hard on over Skybox at Ahnvee.

I think that things will be ok out on that side of town just going to be a little different but time will tell

Yes it is, several arrested for gun/drug possession, plus trafficking local girls into prostitution

In addition, the mayor made an anouncement that the area will focus on family tourist fishing on the bridge, and encouraging the dads to spend some time at the car was while sampling the local beverages

I used to hang out with Brian probably 8 yesrs ago, he was flat broke then. Said he was a day trader, obviously not a very successful one as he used to have to borrow my laptop while we had breakfast at Brittania, so that he could do his trades.

I have not been to Sosua for five years, surprised he is still hanging in there. Last I saw him he was selling advertising on place mats for restaurants.

Sarcasm toward the Mayor and her closing down Rio Verde in Congrejo. (R.V) and the local car was is next door to the bridge heading west before you get to Montellano from Sosua. The crazy part about this place is that the majority of local man ( especially on weekends) that are customers are from the military and other armed services

This action had to be simply a publicity stunt. There was never any danger of anything more than Dominicans and a few expats going there and it sits on what appears to be a worthless piece of real estate. Guess she needed to juice her “We rescue our paradise” campaign and Rio Verde was a easy target.

City Lights is the only location in Sosua of interest to me. Please clarify. Is the old place (was Seacrets) now closed? Is City Lights moving inside High Caribe or to the new "entertainment center" or to neither?

This was the old place but they have been doing this for quite awhile. They would normally do it on a Saturday or Sunday night. I went there one Saturday night in August and the place was packed but it was almost exclusively Haitian people which I am totally fine with. The Hatiana's came out of the woodwork dressed to the nines

They are currently in the High Caribbean building but will be moving into the entertainment center when it's complete. It has been said that could be as early as December.

Before the PC location was forced to shut down there was some talk of keeping both places open for a period of time.

But things change all the time there as we all know.

For me as a casual visitor to the town, two things are important,

    - The quality and access to the beach, and normalcy there, with girls, locals and status quo

    - Girls from Santiago (and Cibao region), and SDQ, and other areas coming to Sosua, meaning they feel comfortable and know they can make money
