08/2021 - Haina: City of Poison (trailer)

Does anyone know anything about this documentary??? I found the trailer, but I can't seem to find any additional information about it. I'm curious if this is another case of the story being buried, like the situation with Barrick Gold and some parts of Odebrecht

Years ago Haina was a burial ground for industrial batteries. This is why they mention lead poisoning in the video. I had found a bunch of info about it on google years ago. It's disgusting.

Pretty much all due the recycling plant. I know it pretty well because I've worked for the last 18 years around the corner from the place.

Haina a few years ago was considered to be the most contaminated place in the world due to a battery recycling plant that drained the batteries into the ground which caused incredible high levels of lead contamination so now just about everyone has elevated levels of lead in their systems.

The plant was forced to clean up their act, but much of it was just a reimaging campaign.

Now the residents are starting a new campaign to shut the recycling place down.

But that's just one of the problems in Haina.
