    Detailed Maps!!!

How about someone who is in the DR or going soon get us some DETAILED street level maps and have everyone tag the important locations on them so everyone knows how to get to all the important places in Sosua/ Puerta Plata etc? It would be invaluable to people who have never been to these places or some who are still new and don't know their way around these towns so well. Maybe we could eventually have the entire country mapped out to street level with every major business or place of interest pinpointed to make life easier on all!

    where is the sosua maps?

The ones I have seen arent very detailed. They show a few small roads and the palace and a few discos and a bank and casino.None of the other main places are listed and no major roadway names. We need a real map!

There are very few street signs on the north coast, how would major roadway names help?

    Wherever I May Roam

And the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her I do confide
    And she keeps me satisfied
    Gives me all I need

And with dust in throat I crave
    Only knowledge will I save
To the game you stay a slave

    Roamer, wanderer
    Nomad, vagabond
    Call me what you will

But I'll take my time anywhere
Free to speak my mind anywhere
    And I'll redefine anywhere

    Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home

Sosua Palace (John's Place) has a map of Sosua on his website. I used the map the first day of my trip. After that Sosua is so small you don't need a map. Kind of hard to get lost is Sosua. You are either heading towards the beach or Europa. The other direction is either towards the tourist hotels or main highway.

    nvr,

I hear you....I'm a "map guy" myself. But trust me, you really don't need one for Sosua. All you need to do is walk around a little with your eyes open.

Old places close and new places open all the time. Just explore...and ask fellow mongers. Here on the board or in person when in town. Guys are usually eager to help out.

The main drag is Pedro Clisante.
The main Intersection is Calle Dr Rosen.

Here is a rough map showing some of the spots talked about on the board.
NOTE: Note to scale. The distance from El Toro Steakhouse to the beach is about 1.5 miles. The distance from the Europa to the beacjh is about 1/2 mile.
    Explore and enjoy yourself!

    That didn't come out right.
the cross-street "Dr Rosen" should be between VIP/NV. Rockys is on Dr Rosen.

the street to the beach (Shark Bar) etc. should be all the way to the right (at the top)
M&M Massage & Baileys should also be all the way to the right, but on the bottom!

I should just sketch a map by hand and scan it!
