The whole show was delayed a couple of hours but started at around 9.30.
1st on local Cabarete band Culture Shock performed a good set, Gales and Wimbash were awesome playing everything from reggae to rock to Hendrix, in between the artists DJ Rampage kept the large crowd going.
Lauryn Hill came on around 1am performed a number of her hits. The crowd loved it but for me......meh!!!!!
All in all a great show for Cabarete...and for free.......kudos to the organisers. They'll be back next year too.
She arguably still holds the title for the best female album of all time...hip hop/r&b
hard to take most out now serious after hearing Hills album...
kinda sux, she wasnt able to bounce back to the lime light from all her issues...
From hearing her talk about it, she didn't want to bounce back to the limelight. She basically pulled a Dave Chapelle before Chapelle did. She saw the way the fame/hype machine worked and decided to opt-out of the system.

Not too sure about that UR. The guy that organised her appearance told me that she demanded top notch all expenses paid accommodation for herself and her entourage of FOURTEEN!!!!!!!
She only agreed to come last Wednesday after he put them up in 3 penthouse suites in this place:

Whilst he was pleased she came he was a bit pissed off that her late agreement left him no time to promote her presence at the event.
Gales and Wimbash on the other hand had way lower demands, although apparently Gales has been going through 3-4 chicas a day at his penthouse suite at Velero.
The 'back -up singer' was this young lady:
