That water park isn't targeting poor Dominicans.. it's targeting the "second home in Juan Dolio" folks that have that kind of cash for pocket change. Poor folks will keep using the beach.
Things are picking up in JD. In the not so distant future, there's gonna be lots of folks around that will have the disposable income to utilize the water park.
If it's run well, it should make a lot of money.
If you think it's love try not paying in the morning..
"Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many."
The water park was crowded when I was there. It blows away the old park in the capitol. I'm sure it was a big investment. Only time will tell...???
Well done with this report Jao!!

New Coral Highway open, probably drive between the park and punta cana, an hour and 15 minutes. Maybe some tourists will take the ride from Bavaro and Punta Cana.
La Cueva de la Maravillas, with drawings made by people who lived on the island before Columbus arrived and rocks naturally shaped like King Kong's head, a lion and heart;
Located between San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana, not far from Playa Nueva Romana (has some nice buidlings); http://www.playanuevaromana.com/

Museum about the Company Barceló and rum. On display is the company's first truck, a 1929 Chevrolet in excellent condition. Tastings and shop also inside; http://visitronbarcelo.com/home/en#chrb
Nice buzz after leaving the Barcelo Rum fabrica in San Pedro de Macoris. Follow the signs for B.E.I.C.A (Barcelo Export Import Company), if you drive there. US$10 for the tour and some free drinks of various rums. Get there before 2PM and probably a good idea to call before. Good tour guide. Barrels are purchased from a company in Kentucky that used them to make bourbon. Some barrels are recycled and can be used at a home, (tables, chairs).
