When you can think of yesterday without regret and tomorrow without fear, you are near contentment.
Your opinions are not my problem...
Herman (Siempre Sol) used to have a really good and cheap burger. Is that still the case?
This thread proves, to me at least, that there are PLENTY of great restaurant choices in Sosua!
You could eat dinner in a different, and excellent, restaurant every day for a month without repeating...it's great to have so many options!
Chris does have a decent burger attached to Passions but it isn't 120 pesos with fries like Andy's. They both have there advantages. If I want take out I definitely go to Passions Burger/Chicken Wing shack or if you want to eat in Passions that is your only choice.
If I am going to sit down and eat at the bar I eat at Andy's because it is good and cheap at 120 for a decent burger with fresh fries and Mogli the chef always takes good care of you. Nice placemat and presentation with real silverware and lettuce, onion and tomatoe all included for 120 that is $3.33 add that to 50 peso beers and it is no wonder I am there for a hour at a time and LMAO when I get the check.
Plus you might be surprised how many little things I have seen walking by on a nice evening that you can't see when inside Passions. They walk up toward the end of PC and back. Some good deals to be had up there, not dimes but they party.
Just Doing It
Well,
There are 22 restaurants listed in the poll, plus ErikS's...the best kept secret in Sosua , and others that would not fit into the poll. I'd happily eat at pretty much any in the poll so I think I'm safe with my off the cuff estimate.Plus there are others not yet mentions like restaurant El Batey and La Finca, probably 2 of the top 5 in Sousa, but relatively unknown and other like the restaurants at Hotel Voromar and the el Colibre Hotel...but they're all TOP SECRET!
There are a couple of real good joints in Los Charamicos. Do they count? Like Central, with the good seafood.
Unfortunately Central close a couple of years ago...maybe a little less. It's a salon now
I have some great memories from there!
There are still a few decent Dominican style places but are really hole-in-the-wall places that you almost have to know where they are to find one. Someone here, Beads perhaps, recommended one close to Caribe Tours IIRC, and gave great directions.
I'm off to dinner soon...and will let you know how that goes maņana
When I'm in a sober mood I worry, work and think.
When I'm in a drunken mood, I gamble, screw and drink.
And when my moods are over and my time has come to pass,
I hope they bury me upside down so the world can kiss my ass!
Not from New York, but I've had Rocky's pizza. It's better than I expected it to be, but not like pizzeria pizza. It's big and filling, not thin like New York style. For a non-pizzeria, it's good. I think it was around 150 pesos for the ones I got (medium or large, can't remember...been a while) and it lasted me for two separate meals.
