Hello All- My name is Jag. I have been in the game for decades and active on numerous boards in the past/present using this handle and troyboy. I get to Thailand/Philippines 3-5 times/year and have been to most destinations worth going to 3-4 tiimes. (Cuba, Mexico, CR, Colombia, Brazil, Thailand, PI, FKK Germany)

I am making my 1st trip this weekend to Sosua and a friend suggested checking out this board as he felt the best info on DR was here. I appreciate all who have posted. Thanks!!

What's up Jag? Read up. I Guess you can jam as much information in before your flight. This board is flooded with info on Sosua and Other cities in DR.

A lot of BMs are arriving between now and Next weekend. Head over to Rocky's Bar and Hotel and introduce yourself to the guys there between breakfast and early lunchtime. A lot of BMs are in and out of there throughout the day.

Hi,

This is my introduction post. I'm 29 and live in London. I booked Thai airways flights from Heathrow to BKK yesterday, and am now hoping for the next 106 days pass as quickly as possible. My first trip to Thailand will be for just over three weeks during the month of November, I know that's the wet season but after some brief research I came to the conclusion that this shouldn't really be a problem.

My first stop will be a couple of nights in Bangkok before I promptly get myself up to Pattaya. I have no fixed agenda after that, but would like to travel around. I was inititaly drawn to Pattaya by the devils den web site. I've since been led to believe it's an affordable place with lots of other great places to try out too.

Would be great to get some confirmation that November isn't a 'bad' month to visit, and hopefully that any rain won't stop me from doing anything I want to do. Also while searching for hotels I've found it almost impossible to avoid agoda. I would normally steer clear of such a site and try to find a better deal independently. Although i'm now starting to think agoda really does have the best deals and is the way to book. Any views on this?

You'll find this is mostly a Dominican Republic board, but a decent amount of guys have been to Thailand on here. It's highly recommended that you subscribe to the trip report access for a month or so and you'll be privi to some really good readings from first hand experiences.
