hell no thats the best time to be in the caribbean

flights are dirt cheap sept/oct/nov (LM Kevy and I made numerous trips for 55 bucks plus tax a few years ago.)
less tourists
less on the ground costs
more available chicas
less drama and more action go for it

If the hurricane path looks like its going along the southern or central portion of the island and you are going to Sosua, you will be fine.
